The program offers features specific to handling text that most 3-D applications lack. Straightforward and easy to use, Cool 3D can create and animate extruded text with a wide variety of properties: colour, texture, lighting and a choice of edge bevelling styles are all selected from a wide variety of presets.

All faces of a letter can be selected, and different textures and colours can be applied to each face. This makes it easy to create, for example, the classic look of a bronze letter with bevelled edges and a dark green front face.
